Garstang - World Osteoporosis Day

Join the Garstang Support Group for a history talk followed by a talk on Inflammation & Bone Health as they celebrate World Osteoporosis Day.

Garstang Support Group

Garstang Osteoporosis Support Group will be supporting World Osteoporosis Day on Tuesday 20th October with a presentation by our local historian Paul G Smith on Garstang: History, Old and New

This history presentation will take place at 10.30 at Garstang Library, Windsor Road Garstang PR3 1ED, with coffee and cakes provided afterwards. In this presentation, Paul will shed light on Garstang's History, from the 17th Century to changes within living memory. Using maps and photographs he will describe the heyday of the town's prosperity before the coming of the railway in 1840. The talk will include drawings that will convey some of the changes in the period and also some pictures that have not been shown before.

The events are free of charge and open to all but booking is essential. Please book a place by e-mailing garstangvolunteers@theros.org.uk

A further repeat of the face-to-face presentation on Inflammation and Bone Health will take place after the history talk. As this event has been full for some considerable time those attending both events will be asked to sign in.
